The Horizon series has quickly become one of the biggest and most reliable PlayStation franchises. Having left Killzone behind, Guerilla Games chose to do something very new by creating an RPG set in the far future with things like robotic dinosaurs. The game was a huge success and it looks like Sony is doubling it. After releasing the sequel earlier this year, Sony has lit a new Netflix series based on Horizon and new spin-off VR games that will be released alongside PlayStation VR2 in 2023.

However, it appears that there is more Horizon content in the pipeline. Actor Lance Reddick posted a tweet earlier this week noting that he was doing some kind of face scanning Forbidden horizon west. Of course, this could be for a VR game and the title mentioned the wrong one, but it still really needs to be seen. It seems fans are leaning more towards it being DLC ​​due to the comment and Reddick deleting the tweet after it started gaining some traction. There’s really not much to draw from, but since they’re still making a face pick for any project, it probably won’t release until sometime in 2023. Sony may be trying to release DLC close to a VR game in order to create some marketing synergy, but there’s no way To report at this time.

As of now, Guerilla Games has yet to announce another major installment in the Horizon series. It’ll probably be a few years until we see that Horizon 3, especially if the team is still working on new DLC for a story that could take months to release. However, it’s a hugely successful franchise, so it’s no surprise to see Sony and Guerilla Games trying to get more mileage out of the last game.
